John E. Herron, FIIDA
Senior Vice President -- Interior Design
Mr. Herron received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He is a registered interior designer and serves as Senior Vice President in charge of Interior Design.
Prior to joining the award winning firm CCI, Mr. Herron was an interior designer for Architectural Designers Inc., the in-house design firm of Club Corporation of America (ClubCorp). Mr. Chris and Mr. Herron have worked together for over thirty years designing quality clubs for discriminating clients throughout the nation that are aesthetic, appropriate and functional. He has had projects published in The Designer, Club Management, Perspective, The Board Room and Club Industry magazines.
Other prior experiences have been serving in the United States Army including a one year tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam.
Mr. Herron has personally completed the interiors for over 200 major private membership clubs such as, Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York (Home of the Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship), Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, Tennessee, Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield, Illinois, The Golf Club at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia, The Country Club of Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, and Poppy Ridge Golf Course Clubhouse in Livermore, California the “sister club” to Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach for the Northern California Golf Association.
Educational services include being appointed by the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research (FIDER) to serve four (4), three (3) year terms as a member of the evaluation committee. FIDER leads the interior design profession to excellence by setting standards and accrediting academic programs in North America. It is recognized as a reliable authority on interior design education by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Professional service involves being active with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), an organization representing interior design professions who specialize in commercial and institutional design. He has served several terms as an officer at both the local and national level. Mr. Herron has been awarded IIDA’s highest honor by being elected to the College of Fellows.
